Barnhorst Elected Treasurer of Hoosier Energy Board of Directors

Decatur County REMC Board Member Jason Barnhorst, has been elected Treasurer of the Hoosier Energy Board of Directors
The Hoosier Energy Board is composed of 17 directors—one representative from each of Hoosier Energy’s member distribution cooperatives. These board members are elected by their respective local cooperative boards. Barnhorst served as Decatur County REMC’s appointed representative to Hoosier Energy for the past six years.
The officers of the Hoosier Energy Board, Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer, are elected annually by their fellow board members. As Treasurer, Jason will help guide the financial strategy and stewardship of the generation and transmission cooperative, ensuring sound fiscal management and alignment with the needs of member systems.
“This role is an opportunity to continue advocating for our member systems while helping guide Hoosier Energy’s financial future,” Jason said. “I’m honored by the trust my fellow board members have placed in me.”
Barnhorst’s election as Treasurer highlights his strong leadership at the local level and his ongoing commitment to the cooperative network.
