Greensburg, Ind. — The Greensburg Police Department will host its sixth annual K-9 Golf Scramble on Saturday, October 4 at Wyaloosing Creek Golf Course near Letts. The event begins at 10:00 a.m.The scramble raises funds for the department’s K-9 program, which has been supported entirely by donations and fundraisers since its inception.
Teams will compete for placement and individual prizes, as well as take part in unique activities, including the opportunity to fire a golf ball from an AR-15. Players will also have the chance to meet and take photos with Greensburg’s K-9s, Kato and Bradly.
This year’s fundraiser will help the department purchase a new K-9 following the unexpected passing of K-9 Dinoe earlier this year due to a medical condition.
“Greensburg has always rallied behind our K-9 program, and this event is a fun way for the community to show its support,” Police Chief Mike McNealy said. “Every dollar raised goes directly toward keeping our K-9 team strong and ready to serve.”Registration for teams and sponsorships is open through Friday, September 26.
Forms are available on the department’s website at www.greensburg.in.gov/police.
