Andrew Ruble was named the Rotary Educator of the Year, an honor awarded annually. He was nominated by Micah Lohrum.
Several community members shared congratulatory remarks, including Lohrum, Superintendent Tom Hunter, GCHS Principal Mike Myers, GJHS Principal Matt Clifford, football coach Isaac Sliger, and Rushville Assistant Superintendent Grant Peters. A former student also took the podium, thanking Ruble for volunteering his time to continue teaching him after an expulsion several years ago.
The award was presented during a surprise ceremony held Thursday evening at Greensburg Community High School.
