
The City Council meeting began with the approval of the September 3rd, and September 16th Special Meeting.
The council approved the following ordinances on their second reading:
- Ordinance 2025-09: 2026 Greensburg City Budget
- Ordinance 2025-10: 2026 Greensburg Community Schools Budget
- Ordinance 2025-11: 2026 Elected Officials Salary Ordinance
- Ordinance 2025-12: 2026 Greensburg City Salary Ordinance
- Ordinance 2025-13: 2026 Greensburg Utilities Salary Ordinance
- Ordinance 2025-14: Additional Appropriations
All ordinances passed, with Councilman Mark Carman voting no on Ordinances 2025-09 and 2025-11.

Building Commissioner Sarah Hamer presented Ordinance 2025-15, proposing amendments to Ordinance 2020-7 regarding mowing fees. The changes aim to establish a structured schedule for when the city steps in to mow private properties and to differentiate between residential and commercial properties.
Hamer reported that in 2025, the city has issued 54 mowing work orders, totaling 188.5 man-hours, and sent out 317 notices. This is a significant increase from 2024, which saw 24 work orders and 70.5 man-hours spent on mowing.
The council approved Ordinance 2025-15 on its first reading.
Zach Wirrig, Director of Projects, provided an update on ongoing improvements throughout the city, noting the continued progress downtown. “Downtown keeps getting better and better,” he said, referring to the recent projects and repairs that have been completed.
The council approved their 2026 Public Meeting Schedule, and their 2026 City Holidays.
