Greensburg, IN — Dawn Lowe, Executive Director of the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of
Commerce, has successfully completed her first year at the Institute for Organization Management (IOM),
a prestigious four-year nonprofit leadership training program produced by the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce and hosted this year in Tucson, Arizona.
The Institute for Organization Management is widely recognized as the premier professional
development program for chamber and association executives nationwide, bringing together leaders
from across the country to strengthen organizations, elevate leadership, and explore innovative ways to
better serve members and communities.
Through her first year at Institute, Lowe joined a national network of chamber professionals, expanding
the GDC Chamber’s reach well beyond the region and gaining valuable insight into emerging trends, best
practices, and new approaches to member support. This experience not only strengthens Lowe as a
leader, but directly benefits Chamber members and the broader Decatur County region through fresh
ideas, collaborative thinking, and a renewed strategic focus.
“Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and organizations,”
said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, Vice President of Institute for Organization Management at the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce. “These individuals have the knowledge, skills, and dedication necessary to
achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic association and chamber industries.”
Reflecting on the experience, Lowe shared, “I am incredibly blessed to be on this journey. Professional
development is important to me both personally and professionally, and the opportunity to learn
alongside chamber leaders from across the country is invaluable. I am grateful to our Board of Directors
for allowing me to participate in Institute and for their continued support. I look forward to bringing new
ideas and energy home as we continue to elevate the success we have already seen at the GDC Chamber,
building even more momentum for our members and our community.”
Founded in 1921, the Institute for Organization Management has educated tens of thousands of chamber,
association, and nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve members, and act
as effective business advocates. The program consists of four weeklong sessions held at universities
across the country, with coursework focused on leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance, membership
development, and organizational management.
Completion of the first year marks an important milestone in a four-year journey designed to cultivate
strategic, forward-thinking leadership. Lowe’s continued participation ensures the GDC Chamber remains
aligned with national best practices while exploring new, innovative ways to support local businesses,
strengthen partnerships, and drive regional success.
Institute for Organization Management is the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce and remains the gold standard for chamber and association professionals seeking to grow,
lead, and serve at the highest level
