Vernon “Boogie” Vanderpohl, 95 of Greensburg, passed away on January 30, 2026. He was born in Millhousen, on May 9, 1930, the son of John and Helen (Blankman) Vanderpohl. Boogie served in the United States Navy. He married Norma Jean Rodgers on November 8, 1952 and together they had one son David. Boogie was a tree trimmer, construction foreman, head custodian at the Greensburg Community High School and worked at BCA. He was a member of the Eagles, American Legion Post #129, and the Moose.
Survivors include: son, David Vanderpohl; granddaughter, Lindsay (Joe) Kalkhoff; grandson, Josh Vanderpohl (Morganne McRoberts); great grandchildren, Adalyn, Kaysen, Henley, Waylon Vanderpohl and Lincoln Kalkhoff; sisters, Dorothy (Charles) Land and Betty Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Norma Vanderpohl; sisters, Evelyn Theising, Florine Owens, Esther Abbott, Marilyn Preston and infant JoAnn Vanderpohl; brothers, Irvin Vanderpohl, Clifford Vanderpohl, Gilbert Vanderpohl, John Vanderpohl, and Donald Vanderpohl.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 7th at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Pastor Ray Sweet will be officiating.
