The Governing Board of Decatur County Memorial Hospital held its regular meeting on
October 29, 2026, with Chairperson Tammy Williams calling the meeting to order at
approximately 7:00 p.m.
As part of the Consent Agenda, the Board approved the minutes from the September 24,
2026 meeting and reviewed the September 2026 financial information, including cash and
investment balances and capital asset purchases.
During the Regular Agenda, the Board received a financial report and heard committee
reports from the Finance Committee and Investment Subcommittee from their most recent
meetings. The finance report included continued improvement of hospital performance.
Under new business, the Board considered and acted on contract approvals, capital
requests. Other items under new business included the appointment of Annette Jobe as
CFO, effective December 1, 2026, appointment of the Board officers for 2027, appointment
of treasurer and co-treasurer, staff holiday gift approval, and approval of the 2027 drafted
capital and operating budgets.
The Board also received an operational update from the President and CEO, Rex McKinney.
Rex gave an update on continued operational improvements and the ongoing challenges
and external pressures in the healthcare environment. Rex commended the
responsiveness and effort put forth by all staff and physicians to continue striving for
success amid all the external challenges. Rex highlighted the successful drive-thru flu
clinics that DCMH hosted for the community, administering over 300 flu vaccines. He
mentioned the new physicians that have recently started in the DCMH pulmonary program
and concluded by highlighting recent events including the Tree City Fall Festival and 2
recent events DCMH hosted, Total Joint Day and Men’s Health Tailgate with over 120
attendees. Holiday Lane, hosted by DCMH, is coming up on December 4, 2026.
The Medical Staff Report included consideration of applications for appointment and
reappointment to the Medical Staff, as well as notices of Medical Staff terminations and
amendments to privileges. Members were reminded of the next regular scheduled meeting
on November 19, 2026 before the meeting adjourned.
