City of Greensburg City Council Meeting

The meeting opened with approval of Resolution 2026-02, authorizing the transfer of funds that had remained dormant in an account and the closure of that account. The Redevelopment Commission (RDC) had voted to close the account during its meeting last week.

Public Projects Director Zach Wirrig received approval for Resolution 2026-01 regarding the Downtown Build-Operate-Transfer initiative. The resolution focuses on utilizing excess READI funding for a downtown project. Mayor Josh Marsh noted that potential priorities include improvements to drainage, alleyways, and sidewalks.

The council also approved the transfer of property located at 919 N. Lincoln Street. Wirrig explained that the property was originally acquired for the Lincoln Street project, but the city no longer has a need for it. Due to setbacks and other conditions, he does not anticipate any future use. The adjoining property owner expressed interest in purchasing the parcel, has already covered the cost of the survey work, and agreed to pay the expenses associated with the transfer.

Mayor Josh Marsh spoke on behalf of Bill Rethlake, who was absent from the meeting. The mayor shared that Rethlake wanted the community and city officials to recognize the dedication and hard work that the Greensburg Police Department put into representing the city at the funeral of former Police Chief Keith Gay.
