ASPIRING FILMMAKERS INVITED TO REGISTER FOR INDIE FILMMAKING

MASTERCLASS WITH SUPER BOWL-WINNING STORYTELLER JOE HERBERT

SOUTHEASTERN INDIANA, March 29, 2026 – Genesis: Pathways to Success is accepting registrations

for an immersive Indie Filmmaking Masterclass, an 8-hour, hands-on experience designed for aspiring

filmmakers and creative individuals ages 13 and up. Open to creatives of all experience levels, the

Filmmaking Masterclass is designed to be both accessible and impactful—whether participants are just

beginning their journey or looking to refine their craft. Registration is open through April 7, 2026, with

limited spots available.

Led by Joe Herbert of Herbert Brothers Entertainment—an award-winning storyteller and co-creator of

the 2009 Doritos “Crash the Super Bowl” commercial winner—this Masterclass offers participants a rare

opportunity to learn directly from a filmmaker whose work has reached a national audience. Designed for

those looking to turn ideas into impactful visual stories, the experience walks participants through the full

indie filmmaking process, from concept to completion, blending storytelling, strategy, and real-world

application with a focus on short-form filmmaking.

Throughout the Masterclass, participants will explore writing and storytelling for short films, producing

with limited resources, building and leading a collaborative filmmaking team, and developing a strong

pre-production strategy. The experience also covers casting, directing actors and crew, and the creative

and psychological mindset required to bring a film to life. In addition, a dedicated segment will focus on

Southeastern Indiana’s 48 Hour Filmmakers Challenge, providing practical insight into how to

successfully create a compelling short film under tight time constraints—skills that translate directly to

fast-paced, real-world filmmaking environments.

“This experience is about more than learning filmmaking—it’s about stepping into the creative process

and discovering what’s possible,

” said Clarice Gordon, Executive Director of Genesis: Pathways to

Success. Gordon further stated,

“Participants won’t just hear about filmmaking—they’ll actively engage

in it.

The Filmmaking Masterclass will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at

the Gibson Theatre, located at 107 North Main Street, Batesville, Indiana 47006. As part of the

experience, participants are also invited to attend a special pre-event gathering, Before the First Frame:The Filmmakers

’ Warm-Up, on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Amack’s Well

Coffeehouse, located at 103 East George Street in Batesville. This informal evening offers attendees the

opportunity to meet Joe Herbert, connect with fellow filmmakers, and enjoy a relaxed setting designed to

spark conversation, collaboration, and creativity ahead of the Masterclass.
