DECATUR COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O’Mara Contractors, Inc. is scheduled to close a portion of U.S. 421 on or after Monday, June 1, to complete a bridge deck overlay project in Greensburg.

The closure will take place between South Poplar Street and East McKee Street. The sidewalk will also be closed within project limits. U.S. 421 is expected to reopen in mid-July, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows S.R. 46 to S.R. 129 to S.R. 350.

This project is part of a $2.9 million contract awarded to Dave O’Mara in October 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
