DCMH First in the Region to Use OrthoGrid Hip AI® During Hip Replacement Surgery

Greensburg, IN – July 21, 2026 – Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) has successfully completed its first hip replacement procedure using OrthoGrid Hip AI®, becoming the first hospital in the region to offer the advanced technology for eligible anterior hip replacement procedures.

OrthoGrid Hip AI® is a surgeon-guided technology that provides real-time guidance during surgery to support implant positioning based on each patient’s unique anatomy. Used by fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon Dr. Eric Tannenbaum, the technology is designed to enhance surgical procedures without requiring additional incisions or implanted hardware.

“OrthoGrid allows me to confirm important measurements and make informed decisions with confidence during the procedure,” said Dr. Eric Tannenbaum, Medical Director of Orthopedics at DCMH. “It helps DCMH continue providing high-quality care tailored to each patient’s needs.”

DCMH remains dedicated to expanding access to innovative healthcare services.

Rex McKinney, President and CEO of DCMH, said, “Introducing this new technology reflects our long-term commitment to the future of healthcare in our region by combining innovative technology with the exceptional physicians and caregivers our patients already know and trust.”

The addition of OrthoGrid Hip AI® further strengthens DCMH’s growing orthopedic program by bringing leading-edge care to southeast Indiana.

“This is a proud milestone for our orthopedic, radiology, and surgery departments,” said Renee Muckerheide, Director of Surgery at DCMH. “Successfully performing our first procedure with this technology reflects the skill, collaboration, and dedication of our entire team, and we’re excited to offer this advancement.”
