Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter issued the following statement online today:
⚠️QUARANTINE⚠️
Good afternoon. Today we are starting a quarantine for all of our kenneled cats. This quarantine will last for 2 weeks. A few of our cats have a contagious virus so we just want to get ahead of it before it becomes a bigger issue. This means NO CAT INTAKES for the next two weeks. Not only do we not have open kennels, but we cannot risk getting more cats sick or potentially intaking an already sick cat.
That being said, our cats in the free roam room are still AVAILABLE for adoption because they have zero exposure. Dog intakes and adoptions are NOT affected by this quarantine. If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 812-663-9081 or send us a message. Thank you!
