Decatur County Sheriff releases arrest info

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 24, 2026
On the evening of Wednesday July 22, 2026, Deputy Gabrielle Shoemaker and Corporal
Logan Wilder observed a Chevrolet Traverse traveling northbound on the St. Rd. 3/St.
Rd. 46 bypass. Due to past involvements, Corporal Wilder knew this vehicle to be driven
by Timothy Wolfe and that Wolfe was a suspended driver. Further, when the vehicle
passed by their location, Corporal Wilder could confirm that Wolfe was the driver.
The deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to stop. The
vehicle then reached speeds of 106 mph before slowing down. The vehicle continued
north on the bypass, then turned south onto Lincoln St. where Stop Sticks were deployed
but Wolfe was able to avoid them. Wolfe continued south on Lincoln St., ignoring red
stop lights, then turned east onto St. Rd. 46 (Main St.),
Wolfe continued to travel on St. Rd. 46 into Franklin County before coming to a stop east
of 3 Mile Road. As the vehicle was coming to a stop, the driver exited the vehicle and ran
into a wooded area near a corn field. As Wolfe was exiting the vehicle, Corporal Wilder
was again able to confirm the identity of Wolfe.
An extensive search of the area failed to locate Wolfe. Assets used to locate Wolfe
included K9’s, drones and a helicopter. Officers of the Batesville Police Department
located Wolfe the next morning and took him into custody in the area where he fled his
vehicle.
