Vicki Kay Zeigler, 58, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026. Vicki was born
on January 4, 1968, in Greensburg, Indiana, to Raymond and Elizabeth “Betty”
Sample. She grew up with a caring heart that remained with her throughout her
life and was reflected in her deep passion for working with children. On October
21, 1989, Vicki married the love of her life, Steven Glenn Zeigler. Together
they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering support for one
another. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to her two children, Clayton
Zeigler (Ashlee) and Samantha Ipek (Tarik), who were the greatest blessings of
her life. Vicki found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid
reader, treasured her collection of Gone with the Wind memorabilia, and
cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. Whether gathered
around the table for a meal, celebrating holidays, or simply enjoying one
another’s company, family was always at the center of her heart. Those who knew
Vicki will remember her for her kindness, gentle spirit, and generous heart.
Vicki is survived by her mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Sample; beloved husband,
Steven Glenn Zeigler; her children, Clayton Zeigler (Ashlee) and Samantha Ipek
(Tarik); a grandson, Aiden Bopp (Clayton and Ashlee); her sister Connie Davis
(Delmar); her brother Keith Sample (Tara); and many other family members who
will forever cherish her memory. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we
find comfort in the countless memories she created and the love she gave so
freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Funeral services will
be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home
in Westport with Brad Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s
Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday,
August 6 from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
