Julie Reneé Vanderbur, 52

Julie Reneé Vanderbur, 52, of Greensburg, passed away on Thursday, September 3,
2026, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born on
April 18, 1974, in Greensburg, the daughter of Edward E. Vanderbur and Judy G.
(Atchley) Shoopman. She was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and a 1992
graduate of Greensburg Community High School. She furthered her education by
receiving an associate degree from Ivy Tech Kokomo and was a home health nurse.
She also went to Cincinnati School of Medical Massage and was a licensed massage
therapist. Julie was a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in St. Paul
and Valley Fellowship Church in Walton. Her hobbies included knitting, singing,
playing music, piano and keyboard, painting, and creating digital slideshows.
She is survived by her father, Jerry C.W. Shoopman of Greensburg; her sister,
Poppy Shoopman of Batesville; brother-in-law, Chris Lemus of Greensburg; the
Seeester Club (all her favorite people), Tami Marshall, Lori Helms, Kristy
Chapman and Debbie Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her aunts,
Angela Atchley and Ruth Atchley; an uncle, Daniel Atchley and her grandparents,
Chester and Sarah Atchley and Vern and Sylvia Vanderbur. Funeral services will
be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Bass & Gasper Funeral
Home in Westport with Pastor Jeff Floyd and Kelli Harrison officiating. A time
of visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, from 2:00 p.m. until time of
service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Following Julie’s wishes cremation
will take place after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Warrior
Bags or the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition through the funeral home. Online
