(Ruth) Alberta Clark, 94, of Westport, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026,
at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. She was born on May 8, 1932, at home
in Columbus, Indiana the daughter of Earl and Dorothy (Stoneking) Cann. She was
a 1950 graduate from Jackson Township High School and a lifelong resident of
Decatur County. Alberta was a bus driver for Decatur County Community Schools
for 16 years. She was an Eastern Star member of the former Alert & North Vernon
Chapters. She enjoyed her iPad. Alberta married Robert E. “Bob” Clark on July 1,
1951, at Mt. Aerie Church in Letts, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October
7, 2022. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Don) Schroer of Jonesville,
Indiana and Marcia (Walter) Hunter of Westport; her sons, Daryl (Cindy) Clark
and Marc (Becky) Clark both of Westport, grandchildren, Jeanne (Dan) Lienhoop of
Hartsville, Tracey (Jason) Engelau of Columbus, Amy (Jerry) Maynard of Vernon
Zach (Christina) Hunter of Columbus, Matt (Natalie) Hunter of Westport, Dustan
(Tayla) Clark of Westport, Jordan (Cassie) Clark of Greenwood, Olivia Clark and
Kyra Clark both of Westport; 21 great grandchildren and 5 great-great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob;
sisters, Wilma Jean Carr and Charlotte Robbins; grandsons, Joshua Lynn Clark,
Blaine Robert Clark & Rylan Mitchell Clark and granddaughter, Kristie Wessel.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at
Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Steve Gross officiating.
Burial will follow at Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on
Wednesday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial
contributions may be made to Our Hospice, Westport Volunteer Fire Department or
Letts Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home. Online condolences can
