Wednesday COVID-19 update

INDIANAPOLIS The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 6143 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the state and private laboratories. That brings to 268,222 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous days dashboard.

A total of 483 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 60 from the previous day. Another 255 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

Decatur County adds 15 new positives bringing the number to 1085 with 7041 tested (52 new), and one new death reported brining the total to 42.
As for neighboring counties –
Bartholomew County – 2573 positives (85 new) and 24,248 tested (248 new)
Jennings County – 713 positives (28 new) and 5705 tested (80 new)
Ripley County – 1054 positives (36 new) and 7774 tested (101 new).
Shelby County – 1550 positives (29 new) and 11,077 tested (113 new).
Rush – 455 (9 new) positives and 4478 (36 new) tested.
Franklin County – 571 positives (12 new) and 3586 tested (29 new)

To date, 1,989,456 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,952,202 on Saturday. A total of 3,668,049 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
