Arrests to report from the Decatur County Jail


Arrests to report this week include:

36-year old James Ingram was picked up on a probable cause warrant. According to Decatur Superior Court records, allegations involve charges of Burglary with a deadly weapon as a level 2 felony, Battery by means of a deadly weapon as a level 5 felony and Strangulation as a level 6 felony. According to court records, the allegations related to October 1st of this year when the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department was called to a residence in the New Point area involving a disturbance call. Decatur County Emergency Medical Services was called to the residence but the male victim refused to be transported. The initial hearing for Ingram was Wednesday at which time $50,000 bond was set, Mark Jones was appointed to represent him and jury trial was set for April 3rd.

48-year old Christopher Merritt of Greensburg is charged with intimidation, a level 5 felony and pointing a firearm a level 6 felony. Allegations relate to incidents alleged on or about the 14th day of November. His initial hearing was held on Wednesday in Decatur Circuit Court. John Kellerman was appointed to represent him in court proceedings. A trial date of February 27th was set.

34-year old Quintin Littlejohn of Hamtramck, Michigan was charged with Criminal Confinement with bodily injury as a level 5 felony and Domestic Battery as a class A misdemeanor. Allegations related to November 15th. According to Decatur Superior Court records, Spencer Gilland was appointed as public defender, bond has been set at $40,000 and a jury trial was set for April 3rd.
