Multiple Agency Teamwork leads to location of a vehicle used in a crime in Ohio on Lincoln Street
Greensburg, IN – The Greensburg Police Department and the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department worked together to locate a vehicle used in connection to a crime in Ohio. Detectives from Ohio notified the local agencies that the vehicle was last known to be in Greensburg on 9/18/24 at 9:57 am. Greensburg Leiutenant Wayne Davis discovered the vehicle parked in a local apratment complex at approximately 11:09 am. Officers with the Police Department and Sheriff’s Department converged into the area of Lincon and 10th Street and pulled the vehicle over in the Speedway parking lot. The occupants of the car were transported to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department for questioning by the Ohio detectives. Possible evidence at the scene was secured by officers of the Greensburg Police Departrment. No arrest by either local department was made in connection to the traffic stop. This type of cooperation is indiciative of the officers of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department and the Greensburg Police Department, as well as law enforcment agencies across the nation.
Rumors are circulating of an active shooter or a shooting that occurred at Speedway on Lincoln Street. We can confirm that these are just rumors and are dangerous when made up and spread. The Greensburg Schools did go on a brief “Secure” out of caution when one of these rumors was spread. Your local police agencies are most interested in protecting the entire public and encourage you to look for information from trusted news outlets or directly from the agency.
