Chargers take 2nd Place in both County races Tuesday, September 17, 2024

In the annual Decatur County Meet all three county schools ran at South Decatur on Tuesday night to compete for the honor of County Champs.  The Chargers finised in second behind the Pirates on a night that saw many Chargers run outstanding times.
Leading the way for North and finishing a 1 second away from becoming the individual County Champ was Eli Weisenbach setting a new PR with an outstanding time of 18:15 and earning All county honors.  Also running a tremendous race and earning All county and setting a new PR by breaking the 19 minute barrier was Jackson White crossing the line in 18:55.  Finishing just outside the top 10 was Harper Gunn who broke the 20 minute mark for the first time in his career with a time of 19:38 and setting a new PR as well.  Following Gunn and setting new PR times were Cletus Rennekamp in 20:34 and Sam Cathey 20:43.  Both Rennekamp and Cathey continue to run better and better each meet for the Chargers.  A heard of Chargers crossed the line togther with Clayton Ruf crushing his PR with a fantastic tie of 22:18, Jayden Lawrence 22:23 and Logan Summey in 22:28.  Summey also set a new PR with his run on Tuesday.  Juniors Teagan Striecker 25:58 and Jake Demitt 28:15 also had solid nights for North and continue to provide much needed depth.

North will have some time off before they return to action on Thursday, September 26 at the South Ripley Great Pumpkin Invite.
