Allegations involve stalking, official misconduct and battery

News release from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department –

On April 28, 2023, Paige M. Simon, 28 years of age, from Osgood, Indiana was arrested
by deputies of the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department. Ms. Simon was arrested on
charges filed in the Decatur Circuit Court, Cause Number 16C01-2304-F6-439. Those
charges involve allegations of:


 Stalking, a Level 6 Felony
 Official Misconduct, a Level 6 Felony, and
 Battery, a Class B Misdemeanor.

These charges are the result of an investigation by the Decatur County Sheriff’s
Department that began on April 6, 2023.
Assisting in this investigation were:
 Administrators from the Decatur County School Corporation
 School Resource Officers with the Decatur County School Corporation
 Indiana State Department of Child Services, and
 The Indiana State Police.


All accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Simon appeared before Judge Kenneth Bass Monday for an initial hearing and was released on her own recognizance. Trial was set for August 21st.

According to the affadavit of probable cause filed in the case, Simon is an educator at South Decatur Junior-Senior High School. She is accused of inappropriate behavior involving a student. There were allegedly 600 text messages between the two from a period of time in February 2023 and early April which is detailed in the affadavit.
