Armed Robbery Occurred in Decatur County

On Friday, March 6, 2026 at approximately 4:34 pm, Decatur County
Communications received a call regarding an armed robbery that occurred at 7284
North County Road 225 East, Greensburg. The report indicated the suspects had
fired a gun at the victims, but there were no injuries reported.

Upon the arrival of deputies, the two victims stated they drove from Gas City, IN to
the location of the report to purchase a firearm they had found on Facebook
Marketplace for $225.00. Upon meeting the two suspects, identified as Justin A.
Seeley of Rushville, IN and James Lee Goodwin of Greensburg, IN, the four of them
shot some firearms. One of the victims was carrying a handgun, which Goodwin
asked if he could shoot. The victim handed the gun over to Goodwin and Goodwin
then pointed a firearm at him and the victim heard gunfire and something hitting
him, which caused him to believe he had been shot, but it was later determined he
had not been shot. Fearing for their safety, the two victims took off running, with
the one victim not retrieving his firearm that he had handed to Goodwin. One of
the victims stated he knew both Goodwin and Seeley as all four had served time
together in a juvenile detention facility.

A multi-agency investigation and search resulted in the arrest of Goodwin and
Seeley within 12 hours of the incident.
Goodwin was charged with
 Robbery (Armed), a Level 3 Felony, and
 Criminal Recklessness, a Level 6 Felony
Seeley was charged with
 Robbery (Conspiracy), a Level 3 Felony
