Dog-Eared Pages, a charming new independent bookstore located in the heart of the city. The store, proudly woman-owned by Taylor Hauk, celebrated its opening on April 2, 2025, and the community couldn’t be more excited.

Hauk, a lifelong resident of Greensburg, shared that the idea of opening a bookstore had been considering it for a couple of years. “It really came together last spring when I saw the results of a community survey,” Hauk explained. “A bookstore was ranked as one of the top two types of stores the community wanted, and that was the sign I needed to move forward.”

Greensburg, although home to a variety of small businesses, has been missing an all-genre bookstore – until now. Dog Eared Pages aims to fill that gap, offering a wide selection of books to appeal to readers of all tastes and interests. From bestsellers to hidden gems, customers will find something.

The store is dog-friendly in a special way – Stella, Hauk’s beloved dog, serves as the store’s mascot. While other dogs aren’t allowed in yet, Hauk has plans to expand into a larger space in the future, where dogs may be welcome to join their owners for a visit.

In addition to books, Dog Eared Pages offers a variety of unique items, including coffee mugs, bookmarks, reading lights, and book sleeves. There are also dog care supplies, such as toys and waste bag holders, as well as an selection of greeting cards and fun stickers for book lovers.

Taylor’s deep connection to the Greensburg community is evident. “I come from a family of lifelong Greensburg residents, and I’ve been active in the community for years through organizations like Main Street Greensburg, the Greensburg-Decatur County Animal Shelter, and Champions of Youth,” she said. “This bookstore is a part of my commitment to give back to the place I love.”

Hauk began renting the space in January, pouring countless hours into transforming the building with the help of her husband, Cory, friends, community members, and high school volunteers. After about two months of hard work, the store was finally ready to welcome customers.

For those who haven’t had the chance to visit yet, the store is open and ready to share the joy of reading with its customers. The store is located at 114 S. Franklin St. Ste.1 Greensburg, IN 47240.
