Ceremonial Signing from Senator Jean Leising

Gov. Eric Holcomb Ceremonially Signs Several Bills into Law

This week, I was pleased to join Gov. Eric Holcomb as he ceremonially signed the following bills into law.

Senate Enrolled Act 167, which I authored, will help Indiana students see what post-secondary options and funding is available by requiring them, with exceptions, to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) during their senior year of high school.

Senate Enrolled Act 4, which I authored, increases the quality of services performed by Indiana’s local health departments and promotes collaboration between local health departments and the Indiana Department of Health

House Enrolled Act 1568, which I sponsored, allows pharmacists who meet certain requirements to prescribe and dispense self-administered hormonal contraceptives to support women in raising healthy families when they are ready.

House Enrolled Act 1007, which I sponsored, addresses findings reported in the 21st Century Energy Policy Development Task Force by creating a blueprint for Indiana’s energy industry to provide reliable energy. Specifically, HEA 1007 directs the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to consider reliability, affordability, resiliency, stability and environmental sustainability in its decision-making process.

House Enrolled Act 1601, which I sponsored, establishes permit exemptions for forestry operations confined to a waterway that has a watershed less than 10 square miles.
