The City of Greensburg Board of Works met on July 9, 2024 at 5:30 pm.
The meeting began with the approval of the June 11, 2024, and the June 20, 2024 Executive Session meeting minutes.
CCMG 2024-1 Bid openings: The project is the Washington Street project in downtown Greensburg.
Schutte Excavating $2,914,400.05
Paul H. Rowe Co. Inc. $3,581,754.15
Dave O’Mara Contractor Inc $3,130,673.00
The Board conditionally approved the bid to Schutte Excavating pending review by the internal team and consultants and to allow the Mayor to sign off on this agreement once the review is complete.
Scott Hadler, St. Mary Church Eagle’s Wings 5k requested approval for road closure beginning at 8:30a until 10a and requested a police officer to be at the end of Milhousen Road on August 24th, 2024. The board approved this request.
Zeke Smith, Wastewater Superintendent asked for the Burke SW stormwater contract renewal. The current contract is down to approximately $2,500 and enters into a new contract for $50,000. This is for implementing the MS4 program. This is for continued work not specifically for any given time period. This is an hourly retainer fee agreement. The board approved to enter into a new contract. The board approved the Vine Street Change Order#1 $38,641- when digging they discovered 4 utilities that were not known to be there. They had to create a new manhole cover to have access to this area. The board approved the No. 1 to Task Order No. 23-02 Vine Street to pay Strand & Associates to pay for the design changes due to the last mentioned concern.
Zach Wirrig, Director of Public Projects, provided an update on the Franklin Street project. He said that they are on schedule and are working on utility items and began a pour on part of the sidewalk.
The Veridus Group was not able to attend the meeting. Mayor Marsh provided an update that they have completed the punch list. He said that they are hoping for a certificate of occupancy which will be temporary to allow them to fix the elevator. The elevator has arrived; however, it is missing some parts and has a shipping date of July 22, 2024. Mayor Marsh said that things have moved along well.
