City of Greensburg Board of Zoning Appeals Meeting- 10/1/24

The meeting began with two Public Hearings at 7 pm.

The two public hearings were concerning a use variance for David Bihn for property located in the 800 Blk. E. Freeland Rd. Also, a Special Exception for Randall Hall to build a duplex at 421 S & Tara Rd. With no comments or questions from the audience the Public Hearing was closed.   

The regular meeting began at 7:01 pm. The board approved the September 3, 2024, meeting minutes.

David Bihn, 19669 Georgetown Rd., Lawrenceburg, IN received a use variance to be able to build an indoor climate-controlled self-storage building in the 800 blk. of E. Freeland Rd. This is zoned a B-3 and indoor storage is only allowed in an I-1.

Mr. Bihn stated that he has a property located in Lawrenceburg that he currently operates that this property in Greensburg will be mirrored from. He states that the spaces will be from 5×5 to 10×20. The property will be staffed 7 days a week and this will include multiple part time jobs. If they are successful in purchasing the property they plan to start construction in March pending weather delays. He said it will take 6-8 months to build.

Randall Hall, 204 S. Anderson St., Elwood, IN received a special exception to build a duplex at the corner of 421 S & Tara Rd. Property is zoned an R-2. The duplex will be made of white brick, will be approximately 1400 square feet.
