APC Petition 2025-3 – Toby Vannatta received approval to subdivide approx. 5.0 acres out of 72.40 acres and rezone approx. 2.99 acres from an A-1 zoning classification to an A-2 zoning classification to build a single family detached dwelling. This request falls under Decatur County Ordinance Section Number 915 & 920(7). The property is owned by the petitioner and is located just North of 6869 S State Road 3, Greensburg in Sand Creek Township.
APC Petition 2025-4 – Roy Saylor requested to rezone approx. 7.28 acres an A-1 zoning classification to a B-2 zoning classification for Storage Units. Representing Roy Saylor was Attorney Chris Tebbe.This request falls under Decatur County Ordinance Section Number 1125. The property is owned by the petitioner and is located just South of 808 N State Road 3, Westport in Sand Creek Township. Neighboring property owners raised concerns over drainage, lighting, and 24-hour access. One of the concerned neighbors was Westport Methodist Church Board President. After discussion the commission decided that they felt more comfortable tabling this petition until they can get further information including a scope of work and to hear about plans for drainage.
APC Petition 2025-5 – Roy Saylor requested to rezone approx. 7.126 acres an A-1 zoning classification to a R-2 zoning classification for a Subdivision Plat. This request falls under Decatur County Ordinance Section Number 200-1. The property is owned by the petitioner and is located just West of 207 W Kentucky Avenue, Westport in Sand Creek Township. The board was concerned with drainage on this property. County Surveyor Andy Scholle stated that it is Roy’s intention to put 6 single family lots in phase 1 and he is working on acquiring the adjoining property to put in a detention pond. However, due to meeting timing he was unable to present both pieces of property for rezoning. The commission decided that they would like to see both properties come before the commission to be rezoned at the same time. The commission voted to table this petition.
APC Petition 2025-6 – Amend Survey Ordinance – The first reading was completed. This amendment was to clarify the ordinance and offer clear rules and guidelines for all surveys to be completed in the county. The last time this ordinance was reviewed and approved was 2008. Andy Scholle stated that they also took irrelevant information out of the ordinance to have a clearer and more concise ordinance.
APC Petition 2025-7 – Repeal Zoning Ordinance Article 9, Section940-1 (b)(c). – The first reading was completed. This was part of the ordinance is specific to septic site requirements and to allow the process and the ordinance to be clearer and more understandable.
