Decatur County Memorial Hospital Board

The Decatur County Memorial Hospital Board met on Thursday.

There was a financial report given to the board. The inpatient volumes were down by 8.3% however they had very good outpatient volumes. The salaries were favorable to the budget. The report was approved.

The planning committee gave their report. They had a marketing update on the community health needs assessment which is still be reviewed. The report was approved.

The quality management committee gave a report. They found that the hospital is in the top 10 in Indiana for sepsis fungal compliance. They also found the number of aggressive and abusive patients to the emergency room is on the rise, and their main concern is for the night shift’s safety. They do have panic procedures in place for all shifts. The report was approved.

The investment policy statement was tabled for further editing.

Rex McKinney gave a CEO update. With the funding help from the hospital foundation and Honda, the new campus walking trail is nearing completion. They hope for this to be an asset for the community to have easier access to a healthy lifestyle. The trail is open to everyone and is ADA complaint as well so that everyone in the community can truly participate.

The Suburban Health Organization contract was approved. The GE imaging contract was approved. The gastroenterology services agreement was approved. All capital requests were approved. All appointments to the staff were approved.
