Greensburg, IN — October 24, 2025 — The Governing Board of Decatur County Memorial Hospital (DCMH) convened for its regular meeting on Thursday evening, October 23, 2025, in Conference Room “D.” Chairperson Larry Rueff called the meeting to order at approximately 7:00 p.m.
The meeting opened with approval of the September 25, 2025 minutes, followed by a financial review for the month of September, including reports on cash and investments as well as capital asset purchases. Catherine Keck, Chief Financial Officer, reported a slightly favorable operating margin for September.
Financial and Committee Reports
During the regular agenda, the Board received an updated financial report and heard updates from several key committees:
The Finance/Investment Subcommittee reported on its October 16 session, reviewing investment performance and fiscal projections.
The Finance Committee presented highlights from its October 21 meeting, with discussions centered on year-end forecasts and preparation for the 2026 budget.
The Executive Committee provided an update on ongoing bylaws review, aimed at refining governance procedures and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
New Business and Budget Planning
Under new business, the Board reviewed capital requests, discussed preliminary details of the 2026 operating budget, and examined proposed adjustments to Board compensation. Rex McKinney, President/CEO provided updates including, hospital operations and current challenges facing healthcare, and upcoming community health events such as Men’s Tailgate screenings and flu vaccinations for the community.
Medical Staff Updates
The Medical Staff Report for October 2025 included several new appointments to the hospital’s medical staff:
Dr. Brett Riedinger, Teleradiology/Surgery
Brianna Daeger, FNP-C, Family Medicine (Allied Health)
Dr. Jeffrey Powell, Internal Medicine
Reappointments included Dr. Maria Darr (Pediatrics), Dr. Jyoti Patel (Pediatric Cardiology), Bryan Rabe, CRNA, Dr. Mira Trivedi (Pediatric Cardiology), and Emily Verseman. The Board also noted staff terminations, including William Gebele, PA-C (Neurology) and Dr. Indu Meesa (Teleradiology).
