[Greensburg, IN May 4, 2026—] After an extensive three‑month search for the next leader of Decatur County United Fund, the Board of Directors is thrilled to announce the appointment of Blaire Hornberger as the new Executive Director.
This transition marks a significant moment in the organization’s history. In December, longtime Executive Director Joane Cunningham shared that she would be stepping down after 18 years of extraordinary service. Her leadership, dedication, and vision have shaped DCUF in lasting ways, and the Board extends deep gratitude for her remarkable impact.
Hornberger brings more than a decade of hands-on leadership as the owner of The Event Rental Gallery in Batesville, Indiana, where she successfully managed all business operations, including financial planning, marketing strategy, team leadership, and customer engagement. Over the course of her leadership, she led the design and execution of more than 600 events,
and guided the business through the challenges of the COVID pandemic, emerging with sustained growth and stability.
She holds dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Marketing and Business Management from Indiana University Southeast, and her background includes extensive experience in integrated marketing communications, promotion, and community facing engagement which will support DCUF’s purpose of working for the greater good and creating meaningful moments in the lives of others.
“Blaire’s entrepreneurial leadership, financial discipline, and ability to connect people and purpose stood out through the search process,” said Kristen Fry, DCUF Board President. We are confident she will build upon the incredible foundation established by Joane Cunningham while helping expand our reach and strengthen community partnerships.”
Reflecting on her new role, Blaire shared, “I am honored to join Decatur County United Fund at such a pivotal moment. I look forward to collaborating with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to strengthen our funded programs and expand our outreach.”
With Blaire’s leadership and the continued support of their partners, donors, and community members, DCUF is poised for an exciting new era of growth, collaboration, and impact.
