Greensburg, IN.- On July 24th, 2025 at approximately 10:40 A.M., the Decatur County Communications Center received reports of an adult female unconscious in the lanes of travel of Montgomery Road near Fleetwood Dr. in Greensburg. Initial reports indicate the female was struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle.
First Responders located the female laying in the roadway, later identified as 20 year old Nyssa Campos of Greensburg. Initial responding officers did not locate a vehicle to be involved with crash. Police Units from the Greensburg Police Dept. as well as the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department began canvasing the area for investigatory leads. Shortly after the investigation began, it was found that Ms. Campos was riding her bicycle on the walking trail. Ms. Campos began to cross the roadway at the walking trail crossing at Montgomery Road when she was involved in an accident with the commercial vehicle. Ms. Campos was pronounced deceased at the scene. The commercial vehicle and driver were later located. The driver was identified as 37 year old Johnathan Hayden of Indianapolis. Mr. Hayden is cooperating with the investigation.
The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team and the Decatur County Coroners Office were contacted to assist with the Investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
