Greensburg Community High School Senior, Kenzie Ebbing is the Greensburg
Optimist Youth of the Month for July 2024. Kenzie is the daughter of Bobbi and
Thomas Ebbing. Kenzie is in the top of her class and will earn her Core 40
Academic Honors and Technical Honors diploma. Kenzie also will graduate with
her Indiana College Core. This means that she will graduate with more than 30
college credit hours allowing her to enter college as a sophomore (credit wise).
Throughout Kenzie’s high school career she has been involved in many clubs and
organizations. She is the current president and media relations director of the
GCHS SADD Club. Kenzie also serves on the Indiana SADD Teen Board since 2022.
Kenzie was the junior class president and is now the senior class president. Kenzie
was a part of the prom planning committee, and the vice president and media
relations director of Spirit Crew. Kenzie is a FFA member and she placed 4th at the
State FFA Convention for Plant and Soil demonstrations. Kenzie has been on the
After Prom Committee as well as the freshman and sophomore representative in
the Junior Optimist Club.
In addition, Kenzie is employed as a manager at Petal Pushers and a retail
assistant at Denim and Honey. Kenzie also is self employed as a photographer,
artist, and graphic designer. Kenzie is known for her window art, chalk art on
menu boards, website design, and other graphic design work. Notably, Kenzie
designed and painted one of the children’s benches for the Greensburg Public
Library.
Kenzie has participated in many school events, often behind the lens of a camera
but her favorite event has been bringing back Powder Puff Football at
Greensburg Community High School. Kenzie worked with another student to put
on a great fun-packed Friday night for our students and community. With her
efforts over $1700 was raised to donate to our neighbors and friends at
Jac-Cen-Del High School in memory of senior Carson Hughes.
In her spare time, Kenzie enjoys volunteering with Hands of Hope, organizing
trash cleanup in Greensburg, is a past leader at Camp Invention, and a meal
volunteer at Clarksburg Christian Church. She also enjoys weightlifting!
Kenzie exemplifies optimism on a daily basis at GCHS. However, these stanzas of
