Greensburg Water Board

The Greensburg Water Board met on Tuesday.

This months employee recognition went to Dave Hellmich. Hellmich has worked for the city for a little over 34 years and is second to none in his work ethic. He often jokes about retirement to which Rick Denny always says he will never accept it. Their favorite part of the job is the people they work with, the different daily tasks, and 6 pm when he can go home for the day.

Darren Burkhart gave an HNTB update on the new surface water treatment plant. They are still working on record drawings and repairs to the clarifier are being done.

The Gray Matters IFIX contract was presented. This is tech support that runs the entire program process at the plant. The contract is for $9,339.36. This was approved.

Rick Denny discussed the Upland Reservoir treatment. There was an odor reported coming from the reservoir due to a surge of algae bloom in the reservoir. The treatment will correct the algae bloom and is $5,682. This was approved. The biannual inspection of the Upland Dam was approved for $4,500.
