Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department Post
Just before 5pm this evening your MTVFD, Greensburg Fire Department, Decatur County EMS, along with deputies from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 3000 block East of 820 South for the reported head-on collision between two off-road vehicles.
As Decatur County Communications updated responders en route, Chief 501 requested a 2nd Medic truck from Letts Community Vol. Fire Dept. For the report of 2 patients.
Units arrived and initial rapid assessments warranted the request for air medical transport. A lengthy time delay due to weather checks with severe weather in the area, allowed both Paramedic units to arrive and reassess. Air Medical was then disregarded by units on scene.
Two subjects were transported to DCMH with unknown injuries and conditions. Units returned to service from the scene shortly after both subjects were transported.
