Jennings County Deputies, Emergency Crews Respond to Mental Health Crisis at Muscatatuck County Park

Jennings County Sheriff’s Department released the following information:

At approximately 11:30 a.m today. Deputies were dispatched to the area of Vinegar Mill in the Muscatatuck County Park in reference to a female who was having a Mental Health Crisis.Upon arrival Deputies were unable to locate the female, however, they did locate her vehicle. Deputies, Firefighters, and Rescue 20 EMS personnel quickly began a thorough search of the area.

Emergency personnel located the female approximately 300 yards from Vinegar Mill, where she had fallen into the river. Deputy John Hartman was able to get down to her location where Firefighters were then able to lower a rope and help pull the female out. She was then transported by Rescue 20 to a local hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

This was a group effort that truly showcased the teamwork between all agencies in Jennings County!
