Kiwanis Club of Westport and South Decatur High School Key Club Partner for Highway Cleanup

Westport, Ind. — October 11, 2025 — The Kiwanis Club of Westport joined forces with the South Decatur High School Key Club on Saturday for a community highway cleanup project along State Road 3. Together, the two service organizations worked to make a visible difference in the community while promoting civic pride and environmental responsibility.

Members of both clubs spent the morning collecting litter and debris along State Road 3 in the Westport area, helping to beautify the area and create a safer, cleaner environment for all who travel through the community. The effort underscored the shared mission of Kiwanis and Key Club — serving their communities and improving the world one small act at a time.

“This partnership is a wonderful example of how our youth and adults can work hand in hand to make a lasting impact,” said Dan Wenning, Immediate Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Westport. “We’re proud of our Key Club students for their dedication and community spirit.”

The Kiwanis Club of Westport sponsors the South Decatur High School Key Club, helping students develop leadership skills through service. Both groups regularly participate in projects that benefit local families, schools, and community spaces.

The Kiwanis Club of Westport extends its thanks to all the volunteers who participated and to the South Decatur High School administration for supporting student involvement in community service.
