With so much pressure to feel cheerful during the holidays, grief can feel even heavier for those who have lost a loved one. On December 9, Margaret Mary Health’s hospice team hosted a “Blue Christmas” memorial service in the chapel — an evening of shared refreshments, supportive conversation and candle lighting in memory of loved ones.
Hospice care is designed for people who are nearing the end of life. Unlike other medical care, the focus of hospice isn’t to cure patients, but instead control their pain, make them comfortable and ensure the highest quality of life for whatever time remains.
