Monday, May 26th, brought beautiful blue skies and pleasant temperatures as well as many guests to South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. All paying tribute to the many Veterans and their families that gave so much to our country.
Leslie Thackery with Gilliland Howe Funeral Home and Coordinator for this event, presented a program full of dignity and respect. Guests included Julie Underhill, performing the National Anthem and God Bless America, Wreath Presentations announced by Wanda Colley and the Last Roll Call of our Departed Veterans by Mike Clark. Local retired Educator, John Pratt, recognized Veterans of Decatur County from many of the Wars in history and shared their branch of service and how their lives were lost as they served their country.
The service was closed with a Veterans Final Honor, executed by the Decatur County Honor Guard and followed by TAPS.
