Outages remain today following Saturday’s storms

Widespread damages reported in Decatur County with downed trees and power lines. Duke Energy posted that “crews worked through the night. Repairs in the hardest h it areas will continue throughout the day. Additional damage assessment is underway this morning.”

Decatur County REMC posted at 10 AM this morning that crews continue to work on repairing downed poles and wire to complete the storm restoration effort. Additional crews from surrounding co-ops are assisting in the effort as well. The state of Indiana is currently experiencing over 17 thousand outages due to storms. Decatur County REMC has about 450 outages remaining.

Decatur County Sheriff’s Department had their first report of weather related problems shortly before 4:30 PM and the last report of the day coming in at 10:06 PM
