Rotary Club Inducts Sefton as President for 2025-2026 Term

Greensburg resident Mike Sefton, a man who has always upheld the Rotary International Motto of “Service Above Self,” was inducted as the 2025-2026 Greensburg Rotary Club President on Monday, June 16, 2025. Rotary two-term President Rob DeHoff turned the gavel over to Sefton during the weekly club meeting at The Branch Gathering Place and Coffee House in downtown Greensburg.

In the absence of Past Greensburg Rotary Club President Alex Sefton (Mike’s son), DeHoff had the privilege of reading some thoughts Alex provided. “Mike has a long history of putting service above self. From his time as a deacon and elder at his church to his faithful service to the Kids’ Closet of Decatur County, Community Action Coalition, the Greensburg Breakfast Optimist Club, to his 39 years of service as a youth baseball coach,” the letter read. “It’s my pleasure to welcome our incoming President, my dad, Mike Sefton.”

Born and raised in Greensburg, Sefton is a graduate of Greensburg Community High School. He began his career as a farmer before transitioning into real estate in the mid-2000s. He has received numerous awards in his lifetime, including Decatur County’s Best Realtor, as well as awards from REMAX and REMAX Tower for his exceptional service and high sales numbers.

“But if you ask him what really matters,” the letter continued, “he will tell you that he’s a faithful follower of Jesus. He’ll go on about his wife, Kay, whom he has been married to for almost 45 years. He’ll talk, maybe a little too much about how his son Mitch hit a home run on the roof of a house across the street at Liberty Park, how his other son, Brad, performed at the little Nashville Opry, and how I (Alex) planned a fundraiser for the Kids’ Closet while in Junior High School. He will share about his bonus daughters, Courtney, Savannah, and Chay, and how he loves to pester them. Then, you’d better sit back and relax as he shares about the grandkids, he is so proud of, all nine of them.”

Alex Sefton concluded by writing, “Friends, we are fortunate to have a strong leader for our club for the next year to carry the legacy of Greensburg Rotary. However, we are even more fortunate to have someone who embodies our mission of service above self every day.

“Our club president taught me how to lead, love, and serve. I’m proud to be a member of this club, I am prouder to be Mike Sefton’s kid,’ he continued. “This year, be prepared to laugh often, serve boldly, and talk loudly because he probably can’t hear you…”
