Greensburg, Ind. — On Friday March 20th, 2026, at approximately 2:15 P.M., officers with the Greensburg Police Department responded to the report of a vehicle crash at Kova Fertilizer, located at 1330 N. Anderson Street in Greensburg. It was reported a vehicle had crashed into the building at this address. The vehicle was southbound on Carver Street at the State Road 3 bypass. The vehicle left the roadway on the southeast side of the intersection, where it drove through a grassy area before it struck three other parked vehicles and a building on the property.
Upon arrival, officers located the driver of the vehicle, who police identified as Michael R. Linville, 76 of Greensburg, IN. Greensburg Police, Greensburg Fire, and Decatur County EMS rendered aid to Linville. Linville was transported to Decatur County Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The passenger of the vehicle was uninjured in the crash.
Preliminary investigation indicates that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The cause of the incident remains under investigation. Initial reports on scene indicate that Linville suffered from a medical event while in operation of the vehicle.
The Greensburg Police Department and Decatur County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
