The Decatur County Prosecutor’s Office learned on social media today of the release of the report of the Indiana State Board of Accounts regarding the former Washington Township Trustee and his clerk.
In order to avoid the appearance of impropriety throughout the investigation, this office on January 5, 2024 petitioned for a special prosecutor to be appointed by the court, which petition was granted in cause 16D01-2401-MC-006. Consideration of whether to seek criminal charges arising out of any investigation will be made by a neutral third party prosecutor from outside this jurisdiction.
