The vote is in

New town council members were elected at the Westport Town Convention Saturday night. There were 7 candidates for the Republican nomination with 3 selected. However in the general election in November there are no other candidates for town council so the three selected Saturday night are expected to be the next Westport Town Council. Glenn Black, Bryan Gatewood, and Russell Wilson were the top three. There were 110 ballots. You had to have voted as a Republican in the last primary or sign an affadavit declaring that you were a Republican in order to vote. Each candidate had an opportunity to give a five minute presentation. Black and Wilson will be new to the council, Gatewood is a prior member.
