Weather update for Wednesday

From the NWS and EMA:

.A shower with a history of producing cold air funnels will impact
portions of southeastern Decatur and northeastern Jennings Counties
through 1230 PM EDT…

At 1153 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
producing a cold air funnel over 9 miles northwest of Osgood, or 14
miles southwest of Batesville, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Cold air funnels and winds in excess of 30 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Westport, Millhousen, Newpoint, and Letts.

This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 139 and 144.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel
clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions
they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a
funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the
National Weather Service.
