South Decatur battled Edinburg on their home court for round two of sectional. The Cougars started strong leading at the end of the first quarter 11-9. Edinburg ramped things up in the second quarter leading by five by halftime 26-21. South was nothing if not consistent in the third quarter. Tying up the score but then not holding it from Edinburg 37-31. Fourth quarter was a battle. Both teams had foul issues and several time outs at significant moments. The Cougars battled hard but it wasn’t enough for a win. Final Score Edinburg 53 South Decatur 47. Edinburg advances to round three on Saturday facing off against North Decatur. The Edinburg sectional will be at 7pm.
