In Walk-Off, North Decatur Chargers Varsity Loses To Knightstown
A walk-off left North Decatur Chargers Varsity on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Knightstown on Monday. The game was tied at three with Knightstown batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Knightstown.
North Decatur Chargers Varsity lost despite out-hitting Knightstown seven to five.
North Decatur Chargers Varsity got on the board in the first inning. Conner Messer’s sac fly scored one run for North Decatur Chargers Varsity.
Carson Smith was on the hill for Knightstown. Smith went five innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out eight.
Jacob Mirick was on the mound for North Decatur Chargers Varsity. The pitcher allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three. Ty Litmer and Trent Gauck entered the game as relief, throwing four innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Noah Howell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead North Decatur Chargers Varsity in hits.
Knightstown tallied five hits in the game. Brady McDaniel and Jace Wilkerson all collected multiple hits for Knightstown
