Ross Gorrell collected three hits in four at bats, as North Decatur Chargers JH defeated Jac-Cen-Del 17-2 on Monday at Jac-Cen-Del Jr./Sr. High school. Ross Gorrell doubled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.
 
A double by Sterling Rohls put North Decatur Chargers JH on the board in the top of the first.
 
North Decatur Chargers JH scored five runs on three hits in the top of the second inning. Chase Litmer grounded out, scoring one run, Jake Whitaker doubled, scoring one run, Tyler Harpring singled, scoring one run, and Ross Gorrell doubled, scoring two runs.
 
North Decatur Chargers JH scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Camden O’dell drew a walk, scoring one run, Wes Horstman drew a walk, scoring one run, Motz induced Zach Whatley to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Motz induced Jake Whitaker to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Tyler Harpring singled, scoring two runs, and Landon Rohls singled, scoring one run.
 
Tyler Harpring earned the win for North Decatur Chargers JH. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Carroll took the loss for Jac-Cen-Del. The hurler went two innings, giving up six runs on five hits, striking out two and walking two. Ross Gorrell collected the save.
 
Landon Rohls led North Decatur Chargers JH with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Landon Rohls and Camden O’dell each stole multiple bases for North Decatur Chargers JH. North Decatur Chargers JH stole seven bases in the game.
 
Simon, Bowling, and Hersey each collected one hit for Jac-Cen-Del. Bowling went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
 
The Chargers will play Greensburg at home on April 29 at 5:00.
