| North Decatur Varsity Chargers had trouble keeping up with Tri in a 13-2 loss on Monday. Tri got on the board in the top of the third inning after Lyla Williams singled down the left field line, and Keirra Mettert grounded out, each scoring one run. Tri scored six runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning. Macey Ballard doubled, scoring two runs, Mettert singled, scoring one run, Rylan Mathews singled, scoring one run, Ashton Richey drew a walk, scoring one run, and Becca Sherwood singled, scoring one run. Brynlee Green started the game for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. The hurler gave up four hits and four runs over four innings, striking out none and walking five. Richey started the game for Tri. The starter surrendered six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Emma Schoettmer, Elizabeth Meister, Libby Crawford, Madison Rohls, Brooklyn White, and Ally Whitaker each collected one hit for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. Schoettmer and Crawford each drove in one run for North Decatur Varsity Chargers. North Decatur Varsity Chargers turned one double play in the game. Tri tallied 11 hits in the game. Mettert provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Tri with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Ballard, Mettert, Sherwood, Williams, and Jayden Dunaway each collected two hits for Tri. Tri had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game. Ballard and Richey led the team with two free passes each. Ballard, Sherwood, Williams, and Dunaway each stole multiple bases for Tri. Tri turned one double play in the game. North Decatur Varsity Chargers will travel to Greensburg for their next game on Tuesday. |
