North Decatur Varsity Football

As is recent tradition, the Chargers defeated the Cougars, but not the Cougars on the southside of the county but the North Daviess Cougars of the southern part of the state.  In a rare Saturday game, the Chargers made the 2.5 hour trek to a different cornfield in which to play football.  The now 7-0 Chargers started the game extremely well – finding the end zone 3 times in the first quarter, both offfensively and defensively. The engine, however, stalled out somewhat thereafter and the Chargers would only find the end zone once in the second quarter and once in the fourth quarter.  The Cougars, however, found life in those last three quarters and score two touchdowns agains the normally stingy Charger defense.  Despite their best efforts, however, the Cougars never got within two scores of the Chargers.  Reid Messer led the Chargers offensively and James Evans led the Chargers defensively.  The Chargers next face the Switzerland County Pacers on the road.
