South Ripley takes the win – but it took all five games to defeat South Decatur in volleyball

From Coach Sutliff

The back to school sickness has hit us hard this week. We struggled the first two sets adjusting to being short a player, but once Makayla Somers and Paige McQueen decided to turn it on it was game over in sets 3&4. Those girls played like they’ve never played before and stepped up big tonight when we needed it. Zsophia Sharp’s passing was phenomenal as well and kept us alive when we needed it. Taylor Somers had amazing blocks. Lydia Witkemper kept the energy high and heads up. Elizabeth Bennett had the best night of hitting! Raegan Benge and Daisy Martin did a good job of filling in our missing parts. Benge came out strong for a freshman and I was impressed with her. We’re only going up once this sickness is over.
